Hi there - welcome to our (Huckleberry and Slave, Lynne) very first blog entry. This is an entirely new thing for us and so we hope that you will hang in there with us and come to enjoy our adventures. We also want to share stories of other, not so lucky Basset Hounds who end up in rescues every day. We have opened an two online shops, The Hounds of Basketville (http://www.cafepress.com/houndbasket ) and The Tug or Knot (http://www.cafepress.com/tugorknot) and each of these shops will be donating a significant amount of the profits to Basset Rescue(s). Okay, enough of the plugs. I'll start off by telling you that Huckleberry is a Basset Hound - think you figured that one out. Normally Basset Hounds don't much like water (there are exceptions, of course). Well Huckleberry is a real bonefide boating Basset. He (and his best buddy, Grace) spend three to four months a year aboard a boat. Not just any boat either. They float around on a 37' Lord Nelson Victory Tug named, Ecco Domani. In fact Huckleberry is known in ports all up and down the coast of Washington, British Columbia and S.E. Alaska. Above are pictures of Huckleberry, Grace and Ecco Domani. So come on aboard and follow along as we cruise through more and more great adventures.
